Weddings, baptisms and confirmations
| Welcome | Ascension so far | Our services | Weddings, baptisms and confirmations |
Anyone who lives in the parish or is a regular worshipper at Ascension and has not previously been married can be married at Ascension. We find that many couples appreciate the friendly, flexible approach we take. Marriage preparation classes are offered to help couples lay firm foundations, not just for the Big Day, but for life together afterwards. For more information on getting married at Ascension, please contact the church office, or speak to one of the clergy after a Sunday service.
We offer baptism services for children and adults, for regular worshippers and people who live in the parish. Baptism of babies normally takes place at our 11am Worship Together service on the first Sunday of the month. Parents considering this step are invited to an Introduction to Baptism evening, and encouraged to come to Sunday services. Adults may be baptised at a morning or evening service as appropriate. Anyone considering baptism for themselves or their child is encouraged to come on the Alpha course - a wonderful opportunity to think through the Christian faith. For more information on being baptised at Ascension, please contact the church office or come to a Sunday service and speak to one of the clergy.
Confirmation services - for believing adults who have already been baptised - are normally held once a year, and people considering this step are also invited to the Alpha course. For further information, please contact the church office or one of the clergy.
