Team: Strengthening Foundations
The most important day of the week for the Worship Co-ordinator is Sunday! During the week, they ensure all is set in place for each Sunday service. Responsibilities include:
- Completing the service sheet for the Holy Communion service
- Completing rotas that assign organists, sound people and computer people
- Putting together the general monthly church rota and ensuring it is sent out to relevant volunteers
- Planning or helping to plan worship for the 11.00 am and 6.00 pm services
- Directing band rehearsals
- Running our "Sunday Team" meeting, which evaluates the Sunday gone and plans / discusses the service order and any creative elements for the Sunday ahead
- Liaising with the musicians and other volunteers involved in our services
Come the Church Weekend away, Easter and Christmas, the Worship Co-ordinator oversees and is very much involved in the planning and production of special services and events.
Gayle, who has been Worship Co-ordinator until August 2010, writes: "I am honoured to have the role I do at Ascension. I absolutely love seeing people engage with God through worship and have a life transforming encounter with Him.
