February 2010 sees The Meercats dividing into the Harding group and the Begbie Group, so over the next few months, we expect to develop our own personalities, but this is how we described ourselves when we were all together.
The question is, are we ‘mere’ cats? Well, no! Our name is a metaphor for our group’s personality – we look out for one another, share life together and generally have fun! Our strength lies in pastoral care for one another, but we’re increasingly challenging ourselves to nurture an outward focus too. We’re diverse in age and walks of life, and welcome is everyone, including the ‘different’, eccentric and just plain special. You’ll fit right in!
An open and honest environment is what we aim for, where people can be real, open-minded, non-judgemental and encouraging, no matter what sort of day we’ve had. At heart, we desire to support each other in our spiritual growth, through prayer, keeping in touch by texts and keeping each other accountable along our journeys.
Last but not least – there are always biscuits, cakes and on the very odd occasion, pork scratchings.
Meeting every Wednesday at 8.00 pm in the Balham area
